Joe Bruno on the Mob – No Violence This Time at Hells Angels Funeral

Hells Angel member Steve Tausan was buried at the San Jose Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, the same cemetery where he was shot to death at the funeral of Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew. The good news is that nobody was killed, or even wounded at Tausan’s funeral.

Whereas more than 3000 bikers were at Pettigrew’s funeral, Tausan’s funeral was “by invitation only.” Extra police were on duty and the cemetery was closed to the public, giving the police in attendance a much easier job of making sure no violence occurred.

“It was completely peaceful, with no reports of any disturbances or violence,” said San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia.

Tausen’s alleged killer Steve Ruiz is still on the lam, but the police are in close pursuit. Ruiz is allegedly traveling with his girlfriend, Christel Renee Trujillo, 42, also known as Christel Renee Ferguson.

My guess is that the Hells Angels will catch up with Cruz before the police do. The local San Jose police have limited resources. But the Hells Angels are a universal group, with eyes and ears, and feet on the ground throughout North America.

The Hells Angles have a much better chance of locating Ruiz than law enforcement does. And if this does happen, it’s likely there will be no arrests and no trial.

Just an execution.

Police out in force for Hells Angel funeral

San Jose Hell’s Angel Funeral Brings Heavy Police Presence

(10-29) 18:04 PDT San Jose, Calif. (AP) —

Police were out in force as Hells Angel member Steve Tausan was laid to rest at the same Northern California cemetery where he was killed during a funeral for a leader of the group.

Tausan, 52, was shot and killed when a fight broke out during a funeral for Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew at San Jose’s Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery on Oct. 15.

Pettigrew, 51, who was the leader of the gang’s San Jose chapter, was slain during a brawl with a rival biker gang in a Nevada casino on Sept. 23.

The memorial for Tausan began Saturday with services at a funeral home, followed by a noisy procession of motorcycles to the cemetery.

Pettigrew’s funeral drew close to 3,000 bikers. Tausan’s service, an invitation-only event, was much smaller and more peaceful.

Extra police were on duty and the cemetery was closed to the public.

“It was completely peaceful, with no reports of any disturbances or violence,” said San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia.

Meanwhile, Steve Ruiz, the suspect in Tausan’s death, remains on the loose.

Police stormed a home in Stockton last week in a futile search for Ruiz, only to find that he was not inside. Investigators think that Ruiz is traveling with his girlfriend, Christel Renee Trujillo, 42, also known as Christel Renee Ferguson.
